We just launched a new feature in Basecamp that allows you to move messages, to-do lists, milestones and files from one Basecamp project to another.
Have you ever wished you could move a message that someone posted to the wrong project? Or split a to-do list and a couple of milestones into a brand new project? Now you can.
Edit any message, milestone, to-do list, or file and you'll see a new option near the bottom of the screen: Moveā¦.
Click Move this to another project to reveal a menu where you can choose the destination project and begin the move.
What happens next?
When you move something, it no longer appears in the original project. Any comments, time entries, and attached files will move to the destination project with it. Moving a milestone will also move any associated messages and to-do lists.
People don't move with content. They'll still appear as the author of messages and comments but they won't be able to access them unless you add the person to the destination project. Add people to the destination project before you move and associations like milestone assignments will stay intact.
Thank you
We think this will be a big time saver and give you more ways to organize your projects. Thank you for your suggestions and for using Basecamp.
