We're excited to announce that we just released a small, but frequently requested feature. Basecamp now has a favicon and iPhone icon that you can customize with your own logo.
Wait! What's a favicon?
A favicon (short for favorites icon) is the tiny graphic you see in your web browser next to the URL in the address bar on many popular websites. They also appear next to the page title in your browser's bookmarks menu and by the site title on window tabs. Favicons are a convenient way to identify websites when you have a lot of bookmarks or open tabs. If you're using Firefox as your browser it looks something like this:
One more thing…
In addition to the favicon, you'll now see a Basecamp logo icon when you bookmark Basecamp on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. To do this, just open the Basecamp on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, tap the plus sign, and then tap “Add to Home screen.” A Basecamp app icon will be added to your Home screen automatically for easy, one-tap access to your projects. If you prefer to use your own logo you can upload your own, just like you can with the favicon.
Try it now
To customize your Basecamp account with your company's logo, favicon, and iPhone icon just sign in to your account and visit the settings screen (linked on the top right of the screen). There you can upload separate images for each. The new screen looks like this:
It's great to be able to deliver a long-standing feature request. We hope you like it! Thanks as always for using Basecamp.
